Jason Pfadenhauer - 12U USAV Select Head Coach

Bio: Jason is originally from Pella, IA and started playing volleyball while attending the University of Northern Iowa.  He has played in volleyball leagues for 12 years and this will be his third-year coaching volleyball for Centennial Volleyball Academy.  He wants his players to love the game of volleyball with a positive attitude, working hard, and working together. During his last 7 years of coaching a variety of youth sports, his passion for volleyball has made it his favorite.

Jessica Rinehart - 13U USAV Competitive Head Coach

Bio: Mrs. Rinehart has been the head coach for the Centennial Highschool Volleyball since the program got started! In the first year as a program, the Jaguars made it to the semifinals and have since won four state titles. Mrs. Rinehart was named the 5A Coach of the Year in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and All Iowa Coach of the Year in 2015. Prior to Centennial, Jess spent 12 years coaching in college. Rinehart coached the CVA Black team for the 22-23 season who had a fantastic year and now heading to nationals! Jess is also an active member of the CVA Board and serves as our Executive Head of Coaching.

Christina Woods - 13U USAV Select Head Coach

Bio: Christina is originally from Georgia where she spent most of her time on the court. Prior to coming to Iowa, she played volleyball for her high school varsity team as well as played for a D2 college team during her studies. Ms. Woods had coached softball in past years while in GA. Christina came to CVA last fall where she head coached a 5th grade team and assistant coached a 6th grade team. Ms. Woods believes instilling key foundational pieces are important for proper development and growth within the sport. Christina believes coaching has two key elements the first one is knowledge/experience and the second is how to effectively teach the knowledge and experience where athletes can relate and remember. Ms. Woods is passionate about the sport and providing everyone including boys the ability to learn and play. Christina also took over in June 2023 as Director for Centennial Volleyball Academy.

Madison Lihs - 14U USAV Competitive Head Coach

Bio: Madison is a student at Iowa State University studying history education, she also played volleyball for Morningside University before attending Iowa State. Madison has been with CVA since 2022 with her assistant Kristy Rippentrop and been coaching club volleyball since 2019. She is an assistant coach at Ankeny Centennial High School and has her state coaching certification. Madison was also a volunteer AAU coach in high school and coached her local summer swim team in her hometown Clarinda, Iowa. Madison’s passion is all things volleyball! She has played every position except setter and believes all players should be well-rounded on and off the court. She loves to train blocking and middles, it’s her favorite part of volleyball!

Mayci Cara

Cara Whipple - 14U USAV Select Head Coach

Bio: Cara is a long time CVA partner having served on the board from its inaugural year through year 4. She is a sales executive for a pharmacy software company in her day job but has a passion for coaching youth sports. Cara has coached volleyball at a variety of levels for over a decade both for CVA, as a volunteer AAU coach and as the program director and head coach for Joshua Christian Academy. She also is a swim instructor and has enjoyed giving kids of all ages and abilities the skills to enjoy water safely. Cara's coaching philosophy, in addition to individual skills continuous improvement, focuses on team unity and cultivating a love for the game of volleyball. This year she is excited to be coaching with her daughter, Mayci Rasmus as her assistant. Mayci has played VB most of her life for Centennial, CVA, Ohana, and PowerPlex over the years. Her enthusiasm for the game is contagious!

Kalei Douglas - 15U USAV Competitive Head Coach

 

Bio: Kalei is originally from Kent, Washington where she played for Kent Juniors VBC from the age of 10 until graduating high school.  At Auburn High School Kalei earned numerous honors including being on All-Conference teams as well as being the Regions leading blocker her senior year.  Following a successful high school career, she accepted a scholarship to play at Lewis-Clark State College where her primary playing positions were middle and right-side hitter.

As a junior player, she developed a passion for the game of volleyball and following a successful college career she developed a passion for coaching volleyball as well.  Kalei has been with Ohana VBC since 2014 where she started at the 12U Black Team.  Since her initial season, she has coached athletes of all ages for Ohana- most recent being the 14U Regional team. Along with coaching club, Kalei served as the Head Coach of the Saydel High School program for a season.  Then she joined the Ankeny High School Volleyball program as the Varsity Assistant Coach for two seasons.  In her time as an Assistant Coach, the Hawkettes went a combined 53-16, and qualified for the Iowa Girls State Tournament.

Brittany Prichard - 15U USAV Select Head Coach

Bio: Brittany has loved her experience coaching with this program and is thrilled to continue her journey! Growing up, she enjoyed participating on tournament teams. Being a volleyball coach gives her the opportunity to positively impact young athletes and teach them, not only about the sport, but lifelong lessons. Brittany continues to be excited by giving her players something to focus on and enjoy! Brittany has played sports in her career; she has played on tournaments teams, high school teams and a former college athlete. Previously, Brittany coached club basketball. This will be her third year with Centennial Volleyball Academy. Brittany is a mandatory reporter and has completed Safesport and IMPACT training.

Jennifer Oetker - 16U USAV Competitive Head Coach

Bio: Jennifer has a decade of volleyball coaching experience at all age levels.  A Dubuque native, she started volleyball in middle school and fell in love with the sport.  Jennifer and her assistant coach, Olivia Oetker, have been with CVA for 6 years.  “We love seeing the development of the players we coach.  Our favorite aspect in coaching is to introduce a new concept and then watch the players perfectly execute the concept during a game.”
