CVA AAU Volleyball

Centennial Volleyball Academy participates in both USA and AAU Volleyball. The CVA AAU teams are a great opportunity for quality recreational volleyball. Teams are coached by volunteer parent coaches and play in tournaments inside the State of Iowa.

  • Each CVA AAU team will be comprised of 8 to 10 players.
  • All CVA AAU teams are school grade-based, grades 4 through 8, and are parent-coached.  Parent coaches will be under the guidance of Centennial High School head volleyball coach Jessica Rinehart.  AAU team availability for older grades will depend on level of player interest and parent-coach availability.
  • As of the 2021 season, 4th and 5th Grade teams play with Volley Lite balls. All other grades play with standard volleyballs.
  • CVA AAU teams begin play in January and will play through the Iowa State AAU Tournament in March/April if they qualify during the course of the season. Teams will play in 6-8 tournaments during the season, including the State Tournament (if qualified).
  • 2023 AAU State Tournament Dates and Locations

  • You may bring an entire team to play AAU under the CVA club name as long as you have at least 6 players and a coach. We recommend 8-10 players on a team.
  • Expected season fees for the CVA AAU volleyball program are $400*. This includes jersey, team equipment, team tournament registration fees, and one practice per week. Player fees are waived for one child of the AAU team head coach.

*Season fees are subject to change due to gym availability and change in gym and tournament costs. CVA is currently using the school gyms through the Ankeny Parks & Rec program.
